Hi there! For weeks, I have been trying to determine the topic of my first blog post. Should it be something fitness related? Sustainability focused? Sharing my current love for an athleisure capsule collection? Finally, I realized that I needed to let my posts happen a bit more organically or I’d never actually get anything written. So I’m taking the pressure off for this post and am just going to tell you a bit more about myself and what I’m hoping to do with this blog.

My focus on sustainability started a little over a year ago, but it was pretty small scale. It was little stuff, like ensuring that we recycled EVERYTHING that could be recycled. I swapped out paper towels for reusable ones, and I began finding alternatives to things like plastic bags. Then, about 6 months ago I woke up feeling an urgency to do more to help our planet. I started researching other swaps I could make and the more I read, the more I realized that the same things that are good for our planet are also better for us. Once I made that connection, I became super focused on buying and making things that were better for the Earth and my family. I started making everything from my own lotions to foaming hand soaps to face masks, cutting out plastics whenever possible, and figuring out ways to reuse items rather than throw them away.

Sustainable living is an ongoing experience that I continue to learn more about and experiment with daily, and I want to share it all with you – the failures, struggles, and of course, successes. I’ll share recipes for homemade beauty items, sustainable brands I love, and ideas on how to reuse what you already have. Along with that, I love home decor and athleisure fashion, so I’ll be sure to share my favorites on both subjects, as well as brands and items that are worth trying. I am also an avid fitness junkie and plan to share my experiences, workout schedules, and recommended moves and workout plans with you. I truly believe there will be something here for everyone, so please continue stopping by as I add more posts (they’ll be coming more frequently now that the first post pressure is off).
